School bus flatulence
Once again if these kids wore a Flatulence Deodorizer by Flat-d.com they would not have been suspended. We have school districts buying our pads for disruptive kids in their schools.
Seth Abramovitch —Who of us hasn't, at one time or other in our wild and misspent youths, let one rip, mightily and strong, for the comic benefit of our peers? It's practically a rite of passage! Well, two such mischievous scamps, seventh graders from Ohio, have been suspended by their school for doing just that. Farting on their school bus.
To be fair, it wasn't their first infraction. They'd been warned a few weeks back by the driver after a similar display of synchronized farting. This time around, the gas-passing was so spirited, it "caused a ruckus on the bus amid a flurry of laughs, jeers and lowering of windows." The driver reported them to the principal, who decided to suspend them.
"He suggested my son should hold his gas on this hourlong bus ride, if in fact he has gas," one of the boys' fathers told the Columbus Dispatch. "When it happens, it just happens. It's not intentional."
The boy's mother, meanwhile, was similarly sympathetic, being a chronic sufferer of the involuntary toots herself.
"As a sufferer of gastro-intestinal issues who was recently hospitalized for these issues, I take great offense to passing gas being cause for suspension and marked as an obscene gesture," [she] wrote to The Dispatch.
Whatever triumph that boy might have felt in the school bus that day, it will come nowhere close to the shame he's about to carry around with him for the rest of his life, knowing his mother had to craft that "farting runs in the family" excuse note for him and send it to the local paper.

Gastric Bypass gas odor
Obesity is sneaking up on us. In 1991 no state in the USA had more than 20 % of its adults considered obese. Now the USA has only one state under 20%! These are the alarming results of a nation wide survey. It also points out the increased medical cost for obese individuals. As obesity increases so will gastric bypass surgeries. You'll find that more and more Americans will choose to go under the knife, with the hopes of increasing their chances of a healthier life. Like all surgeries, our expectations are high and we think this will be the miracle cure, but there will be unfortunate side effects. Gastric bypass surgery will help improve the quality of life, health and confidence of an obese individual but they'll have to deal with the side effect of uncontrollable flatulence / gas. That's where our company "Flat-D Innovations, Inc." will answer your calls. We've been able to assist many gastric bypass patients with our line of products. Our products are made of activated charcoal and will neutralize odors associated with flatulence / gas. Please come to our website (www.Flat-D.com) and browse around to see if our products are suitable for your needs. Check out the entire article at www.HonoluluAdvertiser.com

Flatulence odor is good for you?
Believe it or not the gas odor from flatus may be good for you. Remember the flatulance smell is removed by a Flat-D Flatulence Deodorizer. The article does not state you have to smell the passing gas odor. The hydorgen sulphide in your fart gas is probably absorbed into your system in the colon. Is it better to not be embarrassed by your intestinal gas odor or have lower blood pressure? Read the following article for details.
The gas responsible for the foul odour of flatulence and rotten eggs may play an important role in regulating blood pressure, Canadian researchers say in a study released Friday.
Hydrogen sulphide — a toxic gas that, among other things, is made by bacteria living in the human intestinal tract — relaxes blood vessels and allows for easier blood flow, according to the study in Friday's edition of the journal Science.
It is hard "not to overestimate the biological importance of hydrogen sulphide or its implications in hypertension," writes Rui Wang, a physiologist at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ont. Wang co-authored the study with Lingyun Wu, a pharmacologist of the University of Saskatchewan and other researchers from the Johns Hopkins medical school in Baltimore.
The five-year mouse study found that an enzyme called CSE produced the gas in cells lining the walls of blood vessels throughout the body.
That finding confirmed earlier research that suggested a link between the enzyme and the gas.
In the study, researchers bred mice with lower-than-average levels of CSE and found that the engineered animals had significantly depleted levels of hydrogen sulphide compared to a group with normal levels of the enzyme.
The researchers also found that the mice with CSE deficiencies had blood pressure levels that were 20 per cent higher than the normal mice.
However, when the mice bred for lower CSE levels were given methacholine, a drug given to relax blood vessels, their blood pressure levels were not significantly different than those with normal levels of the enzyme. The researchers said this suggests the gas is responsible for the change in blood pressure.
The findings could lead to new treatments for high blood pressure in humans, said the study authors.
"Now that we know hydrogen sulphide's role in regulating blood pressure, it may be possible to design drug therapies that enhance its formation as an alternative to the current methods of treatment for hypertension," study co-author Dr. Solomon H. Snyder, a neuroscientist at Johns Hopkins University, said in a Johns Hopkins news release.

NEW MEN’S PRODUCT NEUTRALIZES INTESTINAL GAS ODORS
Diamond-Shaped Pad Provides New Freedom for Men
June 2, 2008 — As Flat-D Innovations celebrates its fifth year anniversary, the company is introducing a new product for men — the Men-D, a diamond-shaped, reusable pad that serves as a discreet flatulence deodorizer. The Men-D eliminates odors from intestinal gas via a patented three-ply activated charcoal cloth used in all of the company’s products. The new product also marks the launch of the Flat-D men’s product line, which includes the Men-D, the portable Flat-D Chair Pad and the extra large Flat-D Overpad-D for heavyset individuals. All three products are washable, reusable and available only from http://flat-d.com/mefldepr.html
“The average person experiences intestinal gas about 14 times per day. But many men experience flatulence issues related to medical concerns, such as gastric bypass surgery and blood pressure medication, and the odor can be embarrassing,” said Brian Conant, President of Flat-D Innovations. “The new Men-D neutralizes intestinal gas odors through a thin, comfortable liner designed specifically for men.”
The Men-D is placed in the underwear in order to capture and neutralize intestinal gas at the source. The pad can be hand washed, dried and reused several times. The Flat-D Chair Pad is a 16 x 16-inch piece of thin, black activated charcoal cloth that is simply placed on any chair. It is 100% portable and foldable for your traveling convenience. (Car, bus, train and airplane) The Flat-D Overpad can be cut to size. According to Conant, this makes it especially useful to gastric bypass patients who can resize the Overpad-D as they lose weight.
The flatulence deodorizing products from Flat-D Innovations products are doctor recommended, and the reusable items are the first of their kind. The company is registered with the Food & Drug Administration. All products can be purchased from the privacy of home at http://www.flat-d.com/, and all products are shipped in unmarked packages.
“We have provided freedom and confidence to women and men in all 50 states and at least 40 other countries,” said Conant. “Flat-D products allow people to work and play as they wish without worrying that their intestinal gas will cause an embarrassing situation.” Historically, 70% of the company’s business has been with women, now they have designed products especially for men.
Flat-D Innovations, an FDA registered company, is the market leader for over 5 years now in flatulence odor control products for personal and medical use. The company’s patented products feature activated charcoal cloth that has improved the lives of people in over 40 countries worldwide. Flat-D flatulence deodorizing products are doctor recommended and used by individuals with gastric bypass, ostomy, irritable bowel syndrome, and other gastrointestinal issues. Products from the Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based company are available online at http://www.flat-d.com/

Flat-D Offers Solution Where Conventional Flatulence Prevention and Treatment Products Leave Off
Billed as a supplement to over-the-counter preventatives and treatments for flatulence, Flat-D Innovations, Inc.’s Flatulence Deodorizer™ provides odor control directly at the source of the problem. Manufactured with the same charcoal-based material approved by the British Chemical Defense Establishment for use in chemical warfare suits protecting soldiers from nerve gas and other toxic vapors, the Flatulence Deodorizer™ consists of a discreet pad that absorbs odors, compensating for when intestinal gas prevention and reduction products fail.
“Products such as Beano and Gas-X only help prevent or minimize gas. They do not address odor,” said Frank Morosky, Vice President of Flat-D. “Our product can be used immediately when odors occur, with or without another product.”
The secret weapon in the Flatulence Deodorizer™ pad consists of activated charcoal cloth, which, according to Morosky, operates much like a sponge absorbing water -- except that the charcoal absorbs the gas odor molecules at a micro level.
Morosky explained that the Flatulence Deodorizer™ has multiple advantages. Apart from its ability to absorb odors, it allows people to eat gas-producing foods. “With our product, people are free to eat broccoli, cabbage, chili, proteins and glutens that normally require preventive or palliative measures,” Morosky stated.
The Flatulence Deodorizer™ also works for practically all conditions and diets. Because it is not a drug or medicine, people with existing conditions already taking medications are not adding another medication to their regimen. The Flatulence Deodorizer™ has benefited people with a number of conditions, including Colitis, Celiac’s Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, lactose intolerance, and those with gastric bypass. Other products, such as chair pads and ostomy products have been developed to assist those with special needs.
People in an array of vocations have found the Flatulence Deodorizer™ useful as a way to end embarrassing situations. Testimonies from individuals in professions in the airline industry, corporate America, teaching, and other industries can be found on the product website at http://www.flat-d.com/asdfawer.html.
Other important features of the Flatulence Deodorizer™ are subtlety and durability. Morosky noted, “The material is breathable, lightweight, and easily-installed. Due to its slim profile, the wearer is comfortably unaware of its presence. And it can be washed repeatedly and still maintain its effectiveness.”
Yet the medical community has noted other advantages of the product: “I am a physician and we medical personnel have long known the deodorizing power of activated charcoal. However, until now, it has only been available in powdered form, which is messy and difficult to use.” said Dr. Rae Seitz, M.D. “I encourage any patient who has an intestinal gas concern to try the Flatulence Deodorizer™; it can improve their quality of life!
*Flat-D Innovations, Inc., privately-held and headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is the leader in its market segment. Its credits include FDA registration and BBB listing.
